Farmen

Farmen is TV 2's classic reality series, produced by Strix. Contestants run a farm the way it was done a hundred years ago, with the tools and methods of the time, and compete to stay on the farm until one is left as the winner. Brent supplied equipment to every season from 2023 to 2025, the show's last.

The equipment we delivered

Long days outdoors, changing light and action that moves from the yard to the fields call for a robust setup. We supplied camera packages with tripods and support for stable shots around the farm, plus gear to keep operators mobile through long days. For sound, we supplied wireless systems suited to outdoor dialogue and group scenes.

The control room in 2025

In 2025 we also delivered the full control room and listening system. How we rigged it. The control room sat around 1000 metres from the farm, with nine cameras running. The crew communicated over Riedel Bolero beltpacks, and sound from the farm came in over Wisycom wireless systems.

Behind it sits an Allen & Heath AHM-64. The camera and director teams were split across six listening channels, and each team chose which of the 64 channels to hear. Channels are switched on and off straight from a phone in Fade, or on the Bolero.

Built for farm life

With a setup made for the reality workflow, the team could follow the contestants from morning chores to evening work, whatever the weather and light.
